Michael became President of United Corporate Services, Inc. (UCS) in October of 1997 succeeding his father after his sudden passing. While a succession plan had been discussed, it came much earlier than expected. Prior to becoming President, Michael was the office manager and head of the Registered Agent department from 1995 to 1997.
Michael obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics in 1990 from Grinnell College in Iowa. While there he was involved in theater productions on- and off-campus with the improv troupe Proteus. He attended a 2-year professional theater program in NYC after college where he studied with Mike Nichols, George Morrison and Paul Sills at the New Actors Workshop.
Over the past twenty-three years, Michael’s career has focused on continued growth of the organization through multiple acquisitions, strategic hiring and restructuring the organization. These actions have resulted in the expansion of operations from one to five branch offices, increased service offerings and the addition of an executive team and managers. As President and CEO, Michael is proud of the fact that as the company grows; close relationships between clients and their service representatives continue to be a mainstay of the company.
Michael is a proud member of Vistage, which is an organization dedicated to helping CEOs growing personally and professionally. He is dedicated to his personal emotional growth and healing which is a commitment he made to himself for his family, his company and the world. By extension it is important to him that UCS carries the same intent of emotional growth for its executives and managers.
The company is set to grow as a preeminent provider of corporate services to both the legal community and corporate secretaries. Facilitating the ability for corporations to be formed and maintained in an ever-changing technological landscape between the private sector where business is done, and the government agencies which grant the franchises and set the rules for doing business in the United States.
When not working or spending time with his family, Michael enjoys hiking, bicycling, gardening and being in nature. Michael’s activities also involve supporting his children’s endeavors such as a Dance Dad, Kung-Fu patron and occasional soccer and softball coach. An avid NY Giants football fan, Michael can count on one hand the number of home games missed since he was seven (not including his time away at college.)
