Paula Lintner, Branch Manager of our Delaware office, attended the annual Delaware Conference in October. One of the most important discussions was on the topic of the new Delaware information system.
What is the new system and how will it affect my corporate and UCC projects? The State of Delaware has been developing their new search and filing system for many years now and are getting close to the point where they want to share it with the public. This upgrade to a newer and better system is no small feat and as you can imagine will not happen with a flip of a switch. When the state does make the transition it will take several days and many moving parts to do so successfully. The transition will happen on a weekend and the state anticipates being closed for the Friday before and the Monday following.
Do you know when it will be ‘live’? United Corporate Services, like all online registered agents, has been working closely with the state with testing, training and preparations for this transition. The date the new system ‘Goes Live’ will be provided by the state in the coming months and United Corporate Services, Inc. will continue to prepare for this transition to make it is as seamless and painless as possible to you, our clients.
Will there be a change to the statutory fees I currently pay for UCC and Corporate Services? There will be no change to the current statutory fees for corporate or UCC transactions.
How will I keep current on the status of Delaware’s system enhancements? The development of the new system will be ongoing and will not end at the time of the transition. The State and the registered agents will continue to improve and grow the capabilities and efficiency of the system as it will evolve just as its predecessor has.
