In a recent update shared by the NYS Franchise Tax Search Unit, effective August 15, 2024, UCS will no longer process New York State (NYS) Franchise Tax searches. This significant change impacts how businesses will access critical tax information moving forward.
To ensure our clients are well-informed and able to navigate these changes effectively, here’s everything you need to know about the new process for obtaining corporation tax information.
What Has Changed?
As of August 15, 2024, UCS will no longer process requests for NYS Franchise Tax searches. Instead, businesses will now be required to access their own corporation tax information directly through New York’s Business Online Services account. This self-service method provides access to key details such as return filings, outstanding assessments, and other important corporation tax data.
How to Access Your Corporation Tax Information
To help you navigate this transition smoothly, follow these step-by-step instructions:
For further guidance, you can watch the step-by-step demo provided by NYS, which walks you through the entire process.
Search for Open Tax Warrants
In addition to managing your tax information, you can also review open tax warrants in New York State using the Tax Warrants Search Tool. This lookup tool does not require an account and can be accessed here.
